How Many National Parks in Oregon?

Oregon has one National Parks and three other National scenic points of interest that the National Parks Service is responsible for maintaining.

The One Oregon National Parks Are:

Crater Lake National Park in Crater Lake, Oregon.

This is one of the most beautiful Natural Parks in the United States. Formed when by a volcanic eruption 100's of thousands of years ago.

Over the years the rain and snow filled the dormant volcano leaving an pristine lake with 100's of feet of visibility.

Crater Lake is the deepest lake at 1900 feet in the US.

The island you see in the above picture was formed from a second much smaller eruption. All that remains is that small island in the center of the crater of the lake.

Crater Lake is high in the Oregon Mountains at 6000 plus feet and it takes awhile for the snow to melt to get full access.

Don't expect to get to Crater Lake much earlier than June and the entire road system around the lake, especially the East side, doesn't usually open until later in June or even July.

In the later summer and early fall months you can take a ferry to the small island in the middle of the lake and hike to the top of its peak.

There is a lodge you can stay overnight in, and three different visitor stations. Each one sells different souvenirs so spread the money around.
